A Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit is the amount of credit given for participating in a continuing education course or training session, and is administered as one (1) CME credit for every 60 minutes of contact or activity time. Registrants with PBMT certification are required to earn a minimum of thirty (30) CME credits every triennial cycle. Verification of CME credits must be verified by receipt of a certificate from the approved continuing education program. Copies of CME certificate must be submitted via mail, e-mail or faxed to the IBBM National Office before March 1st of the third year of recertification.
Approved providers of CME credits must apply for recognition of continuing education venues, by completing the application found on the IBBM website and submitting an application fee of $50.00 USD per course or activity applied for.
IBBM maintains a list of previously approved venues that have completed the application procedure and have received approved credit. It is the responsibility of the certified PBMT to obtain all documentation regarding their participation in that venue and submit it to the IBBM office with their recertification materials.
