CME Approval Procedure


Only international, national, regional, and state blood management meetings, approved in advance by the IBBM, may qualify for CME credits. Sponsors of these meetings must complete all requirements for approval prior to the date of the meeting. No meeting will be approved for CME credit after the date of the meeting.


The procedure for obtaining IBBM approval for programs seeking CME credits is as follows:

1. Requests for CME credit must be received no less than forty-five (45) days 

prior to the date of the meeting.

2. The letter of request from the meeting or activity sponsor must include the following:

a. A copy of the program identifying the meeting sponsor, 

chairperson and faculty.

b. A timed agenda specifying topics and presenters.

c. Titles, credentials and/or qualifications of all faculty.

d. Meeting evaluation form.

e. Daily sign-in sheet.

f. Certificate or letter of CME credit.

g. Application fee of $100.00 USD.


The IBBM will notify the meeting sponsor of any deficiency in the application. Upon receipt of a completed application, the IBBM will assign the appropriate CME credits and notify the sponsor within two (2) weeks of the application. Applications not completed thirty (30) days prior to date of meeting must include a $50.00 Late Fee. Applications not completed by the date of the meeting will not be approved for CME credits.
